We visited Simonsig Wine Farm twice over the festive period, on 24 December and again on 29 December, and both visits were really lovely.
On the 24th, Sunny looked after us and the service s excellent. Even though the estate s closing earlier that day, we never once felt rushed, Sunny s attentive, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel at home. A special touch I really appreciated s that the champagne for the mimosas s added at the table. We also ordered a few pizzas and the cheese platter, which I thought s great value for money and very satisfying.
When we returned on the 29th, we were served by Rose, who s just as friendly and attentive. We again ordered pizzas, along with the cheese and charcuterie platter. While everything s fresh and enjoyable, I must say this platter s a bit disappointing compared to the cheese platter we had previously, especially considering that the cheese platter is the more affordable option but felt far more generous.
Overall, the rm service from both Sunny and Rose really stood out and made our visits memorable. We’ll definitely be back, and hopefully next time for that cheese platter again!

Such a lovely & beautiful place. Very relaxing to sit outside under the trees. The wine is fantastic & very affordable. The cheese & charcuterie platter is so very tasty. However, it is a bit over prices for what you receive, compared to other farms.
But all in all, a very nice experience!

Simonsig offers great views and a relaxed, polished setting that immediately makes it an enjoyable stop. The tasting experience is well run, with friendly, knowledgeable staff and a good selection of wines that showcase consistency and quality.
FYI: The on site eatery focuses mainly on pizzas and cheese based dishes, which works well if you enjoy casual, wine friendly food rather than formal dining.
Factoid: Simonsig is widely credited with producing South Africa’s first Méthode Cap Classique in 1971, playing a foundational role in establishing the country’s sparkling wine tradition.

What a beautiful experience, love that they cater for kids as well. The environment is just so calming, it s informative to be there learning about the different wines and history behind it. I’m not a creative bunny but enjoyed painting on the bottle 😍
I really wouldn’t mind going back

We didn’t make a booking as it s an unplanned visit however, the staff were very accommodating considering it s a busy Saturday.
The it s a bit long and we ended up taking a lk to pass the time while iting for our itress in between tastings. The kiddies pairing is very nice and definitely impressed our boy. And obviously the bubbly didn’t disappoint as Simonsig are the pioneers of bubbly in South Africa.
They also have a small kids play area and a large lawn area where you can also sit and relax.

I always love visiting the Simonsig Wine Estate and this time around s no different. We had a great time. We began our visit with a wine tasting where I went for the option of selecting 6 different wines in their different categories and my wife their bubbly, Cap Classique, tasting. Every wine we sampled s full of flavour, and I appreciated that we could taste wines from different budget categories which gave me a clear picture of their overall quality. After the tasting we decided to grab a cheese and charcuterie platter which paired perfectly with their wines. The highlight for me though, s when I got the opportunity to sabrage a bottle of their Kaapse Vonkel Brut - it s a fun and exhilarating experience which I highly recommend! If you nt to do the sabrage, the price includes a bottle of the Kaapse Vonkel. To top the entire experience off, they have a nice shaded kids' play area to keep the little ones entertained and the service s friendly. Simonsig consistently delivers, making it a must-visit for any wine lover.
