We came to Babylonstoren for our honeymoon staying 3 nights in a beautifully furnished garden cottage. The location next to the garden s perfect for us meaning we had easy access to the spa, restaurants and could duck into the gardens whenever we nted with ease. The service from the team s wonderful, arrival and check in s easy, they were aware of our itinerary for the stay, always willing to help and make suggestions. The farm lk, olive oil tasting, wine tasting and essential oil tours were all lovely things that we were able to do and we would recommend. Our days were full but also so relaxing. We look forward to visiting again.
This place is simply amazing. We stayed here for 3 nights in the Fynbos Cottages and we loved every moment. The whole property is a great place to discover. Babel restaurant is great. We also really enjoyed the hotel's tour to the ter buffalo farm. Highly recommend, also for families with kids!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We celebrated our honeymoon in Cape Town and Babylonstoren ended up being our favourite place we stayed. The entire property feels magical—from the gardens to the architecture—and it has this peaceful atmosphere that’s impossible to describe until you experience it yourself.
The rooms were beautifully designed, spacious, and filled with thoughtful touches. king up to those views and lking through the gardens each morning felt like a dream. Every meal we had s exquisite: fresh ingredients, incredible flavours, and stunning presentation. You can really taste the care and creativity behind each dish.
Service s outstanding throughout our stay. Staff were rm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome without ever intruding on our privacy. Everything s smooth, relaxed, and perfectly paced—exactly what you nt on a honeymoon.
Babylonstoren strikes the perfect balance between luxury, nature, and comfort. It’s a place that stays with you long after you leave. We can’t it to return one day.
Highly recommended, especially for couples looking for something unforgettable.
This a one of the few wow places that crossed my life so far.
It is peaceful and still busy. It is charming and yet edgy.
#1 atmosphere
The venue is phenomenal. The amount of love, dedication, creativity that went into must have been and still is outstanding. The results is staggering. Part of it is attributed to the stunning surroundings.
#2 wine tasting
We did the 5 wine selection.
The selection of wines seemed to me a bit dull and the snacks in particular.
#3 developments & improvements
I’ve first been in 2018 and again in 2023. It’s great to see how much the place has transformed over these 5 years. I’m excited to see it in another couple of years again.
The coffee and roast place for instance once s a storage place and now is a full equipped cafe with a bad ass espresso machine and capable barista.
If you like Disneyland you will love Babylonstoren. No rides though. Staff seems completely unbothered. Everything just feels unauthentic and fake. I’m sure influencers will feel right at home.
Did not see the hotel only the “farm”
We stayed three nights at the hotel. We loved it but I must say that you HAVE to stay at the fynbo cottages to avoid the crowds of day visitors and shortcomings that of the other reviewers point out. Our experience s great, service s impecable. They went out of their y to accommodate us. Food is delicious and fresh. The pool where the cottages are is perfect (if more people had been there it would not have been the same because it is not very big). The Spa treatment s excellent but the Spa building and facilities is nothing special (disappointing given how beautiful the place is). The cottages are very comfortable and well appointed. Good taste. We enjoyed out stay very much. Three nights is about right
An absolute treasure - been living in CT all my life and only discovered this place today. It’s a working farm so for the R150 annual fee, you can pick fruits and enjoy them on the farm. Great picnic area with plenty of things to keep kids entertained. A definite must visit if you’re looking for something different in the wine lands of Franchhoek
Babylonstoren in Stellenbosch is an amazing spot! 😍 It's a historic farm with beautiful gardens, a restaurant, and a store selling local goodies. The vibe is super chill, and the staff are friendly. Great place to relax, explore, and enjoy some delicious food. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area! 🌳🍴👌
Babylonstoren isn’t just a winery—it’s a curated estate experience. The real centerpiece is the immaculate, seasonal garden that quietly signals taste and privilege without being flashy. Wines are precise and polished, designed to sit naturally in a serious cellar rather than shout for attention. Dining and service lean into “quiet luxury”: farm-to-table with absolute control over quality, set in an effortlessly elegant Cape Dutch property.
Babylonstoren is a beautiful place. Lovely gardens. Facilities were in good condition. There s a baby changing facility although i do wish they had a soft changing mat on the hard table which is the changing table for babies. The Greenhouse restaurant is very big however staff s not sufficient when busy as we had to it long for itron and they couldn't check up regularly.
