We stayed in Black Eagle house
(2 couples and 2 children)
4 spacious bedrooms, 4 bathrooms
Lovely, double volume open plan living area and kitchen.
The wind s pumping, so we ended up being indoors quite a bit and that s still fun and comfortable.
Nice lk to the donkeys and swimming pool.
We were the only guests this particular weekend and it s really quiet and serene and we felt like we are in our own little bubble.
Stayed over Christmas with family. The pool area is lovely. However, overall, the place is poorly maintained. For example, multiple outdoor chairs at pool area and umbrella broken.
At Honey Badger house - we stayed in loft area and the floor under the bed s filthy - did not seem to have been cleaned in weeks.
We chose the farm because of the fact that it is family friendly with the animals and jungle gym. My son climbed up the jungle gym ladder and it immediately gave y and broke underneath him and he sustained some minor scratches.
Lastly , check out s for 10 am, but cleaning staff arrived far before this.
As I know from my own experience, Fynbos Estate is an ideal venue for workshops of all kinds. The most recent group-based event I conducted there (in September 2021) s research based, involving such things as extensive discussions and painstaking interviews, preceded and followed by the need for careful reflection. This required an environment that s quiet, tranquil, and comfortable; and Fynbos Estate, with its wide variety of venues and spaces, provided all that. Equally important, the Estate’s catering and recreational facilities are outstanding, which meant that it s able to meet all the needs of the participants for food, drink, wonderfully recreative lks, and so on..
The place is idyllic, too. The farm – which encompasses a mountain nature reserve – has extraordinary natural beauty, the accommodation is aesthetically (and comfortably) designed, and Diana and Johan are rm and welcoming hosts What's more, the Estate is just an hour out of Cape Town, easy to find, and the road is excellent the entire y.
I’ll definitely be back! Very strongly recommended.
We had our wedding here, and decided to make it a weekend, with guests staying on the farm. Romayne did an excellent job arranging everything, and putting us in contact with people to help out with additional requisites like flowers, cake and music. Since we had to organise this from abroad, her input s extremely helpful. Johan and Diana were gracious hosts, and luckily the wines weren't as dry as his sense of humour. This estate is off the beaten path, but it's truly a diamond in the rough, with great accomodation, friendly hosts always willing to go the extra mile, and an unassuming winemaker with a clear passion for his art, that shines in the flavour of the product.
Would highly recommend staying at Fynbos! Our family has enjoyed two wonderful vacations at the Estate and we already look forward to the next visit. Johan and Diana are exceptional hosts! Our favorite activites include hiking in the mountains, afternoon swims, and hanging out with the animals. Our young boys loved the dogs! Location is also great, just an hour from the airport but close to wine country with many day-trip opportunities. The accommodations are very comfortable and well equipped with friendly staff to assist. If you're looking for a tranquil getaway, this is it!
We have chosen the perfect place to have our wedding. Not only does Fynbos Estate have exceptional venues, oak trees and accommodation, but it is the people, Diana, Johan and the staff who made our weekend a magical time we will always remember. ||Jacques went early on to look at Fynbos. He send me the photos and we booked it immediately for the most beautiful winter’s day in August. I s still working in Kazakhstan and ed Diana with all the questions I had. She responded promptly and assured me that everything will be to my liking. I cannot thank them enough for the ideas and help. My wedding coordinator s in touch and when she came to set up they welcomed her with open arms, helped where they could to prepare everything. Our ceremony s held in The Cellar and dinner at The Perdestal. It s a small wedding of only family. The Perdestal s the perfect choice for an intimate dinner.||||The Friday the family arrived, Diana and Johan s there to greet us all. The Friday evening we had a wine tasting that Johan organised and we were spoiled for choice tasting all the Dragonridge wines. This s a perfect idea as the guests all decided on the wine for the wedding dinner. ||||The accommodation is divine. We rented all the accommodation at Fynbos for the weekend. All the family got together at the Main House for dinner and breakfasts. So spacious with beautiful facilities, enough fridges for all the wine! The stoep s the drawing point…everyone enjoying family time together around the big table.||||Our wedding day s magical. Diana s there, every step of the y making sure that everything s on point. The food s prepared with great care. Everything s sent out on time and it s absolutely delicious. There were plenty of food…enough for second and third helpings. The malva poeding s my favourite!!||||I told my sister at one point before the ceremony that I am not nervous at all…and her response: ‘It is this place! It is so calm and relaxed.’ And that is exactly what Fynbos Estate is…a magical farm with a relaxed atmosphere where one can unwind and smell the fresh air. Where we felt like a part of the Fynbos family. ||||Thank you Diana, Johan and staff for being such a big part in making our wedding truly special!!
Our wedding venue s the beautiful Fynbos Estate just outside Malmesbury. This rustic working farm held all the elements that I s looking for. Unique, beautiful views, delicious food and wine. All the hallmarks of a truly memorable occasion.||||I nt to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to DIanne and all the wonderful staff at Fynbos Estate for making our wedding day THE BEST day of our lives.||||All our guests have not stopped talking about the wonderful food and wine and the beauty of the farm.||||Our little cottage that we stayed in s perfect! I cannot it to go back
Love going to Fynbos Estate! It feels like home. I go there for a dance workshop and it is just the nicest place not far from Cape Town. The gardens are beautiful and it is just such a treat to be surrounded by all the green and nature.
Spent the weekend at Fynbos Estate as part of the Cape Town Swing Camp 2022. It s an amazing venue with a range of accommodation options to suit everyone's needs. The pavilion has a beautiful wooden floor which s ideal for dancing! Stayed at the Black Eagle Cottage which s lovely and very well organised. I look forward to visiting again!
Thank you to Fynbos Estate for making every part of our wedding special and easy. Working with Diana and Johan and their team is a pleasure; and they helped us put together a perfect celebration. The wines are excellent, the food is delicious and plentiful, the grounds are gorgeous, and the dance floor beckons. What more could you ask for in a venue? I wish I could give 10 stars.
