Africamps Hex Valley offers a pleasant and peaceful getaway in a beautiful setting. The glamping tents are comfortable and well-equipped, with all the basics you need for a relaxing stay. king up to the fresh air and countryside views s enjoyable, and the surrounding area is perfect for a quiet escape.
The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring our stay went smoothly. While the experience is more low-key compared to some of the other Africamps locations, it’s a nice spot for anyone looking for a simple, comfortable break in nature.

I spent two wonderful nights at the beautiful Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington. The AfriCamps glamping tent s fantastic – fully equipped and truly provided with all the comforts you could wish for.
Upon arrival, we were rmly welcomed by George, who instantly made us feel at home and s always ready to help with anything we needed. His hospitality really made a difference.
The hot tub by Buitengewoon s an absolute highlight. I spent four relaxing hours soaking in it, enjoying a great glass of Doolhof’s own Malbec – a truly special experience.
All in all, it s a perfect getaway and one I would highly recommend to anyone!

I have visited the amazing camp in Robertson twice and will continue going back! The camps were located in the most picturesque hidden valley. Clean and tidy campsite, fully equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable beds and stylish bathrooms make it so easy for family and friends to make meals together and sleep well in a rustic luxurious tent. There are many activities for adults and kids like hiking, canoeing, swimming and cycling. This is the perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Highly recommend visiting!

Had the worst experience at Karoo 1. Very disappointing and not the relaxing holiday that we had in mind.
Firstly, we requested a high chair and camp cot for our 6month old, which s promised to be ready at our tent upon check in, but it s not fulfilled. We had to contact reception numerous times for the chair and it s never delivered to us, we only got the chair and cot later the evening when we were moved to a different tent due to issues with the first tent we were placed in.
The tents were also not cleaned properly as there were nail clippings on the floor from previous guests (with a baby crawling around this could be a major health risk).
On the evening of Day 2 and morning of day 3, we had ter issues and were unable to sh dishes and take a shower, we were planning on checking out at 8am so we could move to our next destination but because of the ter issues, we could only leave much later.
All issues we have encountered were dealt with a lack of urgency which is very disappointing considering the amount to you pay for one of these tents for a night.
I highly doubt that we would ever be returning.

I had some excellent stay overs at different beautiful situated camp sites. Last one s Karoo 1 - Hex Valley. The camp is located in a valley in the rugged landscape of the karoo. I loved the absolute silence around us. Especially go out with the e-bikes to experience the views of this extraordinary landscape. Or relax in the hot tub in the moonlight :-). The staff s very friendly and helped us where they could. AfriCamps offers a truly unique experience. Hope to visit more locations in the near future.

I would like to post this as it is important to know what is really going on at some of the Africamps venues. Myself, my wife and two children have frequented Africamps in Oudshoorn, but had a terrible experience just after lockdown and definitely will not be going back there. on arrival the tent s not cleaned at all, the same reception we received during the december holidays s definitely no welcoming at all, All of us as humans have just endured Covid 19 and full lockdown throughout the entire world and yet the Africamps team cannot simply clean and sanitize the entire surface area. We decided to not unpack, but opted to sleep over and run back home the next morning at sunrise.

The perfect getaway location for a breather from the rush of the city life.
Once you set foot on PatBush, you are encompassed by the astonishing scene of mountains. The AfriCamps offers that “off the grid” feeling, while still providing you with the comfort and luxury of “glamping”. There are so many options to keep busy, from the most gorgeous 7km hiking trail, to taking a dip in the dam or just relaxing on the sofa with a book and a view. You are also close to some lovely wine farms which s for more exploring and lots of wine tastings. A 10/10 - highly recommend.

We absolutely love Africamps! We have stayed at a few camps and every time we love the tents, its layout and comfort! Also they are on fantastic locations with beautiful views and lots of things to do and visit!

My husband and I took our son there to celebrate his 3rd birthday as he loves tent camping. We asked management if his grandparents could stop by the premises to drop his birthday gift. Literally just drop by to hand over his birthday gift and they said no they not allowed. We immediately packed up even tho we already payed in full for our stay. We travel alot and this has by far been the worst and coldest experience we've ever experienced.

We had the worst experience this weekend
Booked an Anniversary weekend away at Karoo 1.
1. Unit 2 s nice but there s still left overs in the loo that my wife had to flush.
2. We went for dinner at the restaurant and iting 1.5 hours for our meal, if the food and beverage manager didn’t get up and make our food we would not have had dinner.
3. The hot tub in our unit s not Clean
4. We ordered a braai pack on the Friday night, but it s incomplete.
The Garlic bread sn’t a garlic bread had no butter or garlic on it it s just a loaf of bread. Also we didn’t get the marshmallows that s to be included.
5. Also we iting about 2 hours for the braai pack I eventually went to reception to collect it and there s a fly in the salad box.
6. Ordered the breakfast and they only brought it to us past 10 am
7. Baboons raided our tent, which I understand is out of their control but when they staff came to clean our unit to move us to the next unit, the one staff member told the other staff member that it sn’t necessary to change the bedding , we can just sleep in the other room (bunk room)
8. They didn’t even wipe the baboon paw prints off of the white lls
9. Loose toilet seat
10. Moved to the new unit allocated after the baboon raid, but it smelled of baboon poo and wee.
11. Baboon poo s seen on the basin pedestal.
13. Flies all over because of the poo.
14. They nted to charge us for a R590 for a family braai pack we didn’t even have. We had the normal braai pack for 2 adults. Big price difference!!
People MUST check their invoices always!!
There is no excuse for laziness and Carelessness!!
Very disappointing and we will not be visiting Africamps again!
