Quick to collect funds but slow to refund deposit. Function on 10/08/2024 yet no payment received to date.
Being lying to since Friday 29 th August 2025.
I have worked with them many times before but Emanuel Moganedi is the most useless sales representative I have ever come across. He could not care less about assisting a customer. He insisted that I need to give him a date in order to give me a quotation. I told him that no date has been set and he can pick any date under the sun in order to give me a quotation. He s unable to do this and basically refused to give me a quotation because I s unable to give him a date for an event which is only being costed and not being planned yet. This is a company who is apparently very busy and not in need of business so I will happily oblige them.

- You were not on the with him. I distinctly thought that if his boss s able to hear his uncaring attitude they would be furious but apparently not.
- He never offered to send a costing per . I am not sure if you read the s yourself but there s no such offer. He referred me to your website, which a skilled and capable sales representative would have done in the first place as opposed to infuriating a customer who is simply requesting a cost estimate.
- I nt to reiterate that on two separate occasions I said to him 'You can use any date, it doesn't matter. I just need the price. If you cannot give me a simple quote then I will go elsewhere' and in both instances his response s 'that is fine'.
- I have gone to Bulldog Function Hire. The communication went as follow:
W: Hi, I need a quote on the following rentals .......
B: What are the dates?
W: I do not have a date yet, I just need a costing
B: Sure thing, here you go .......
I have spoken to Henk who promised to send a number so that I can send him pictures of the garden where the function will be held.
Henk s extremely abrupt and unfriendly. He never sent the number.
I will definitely never do business with such a company! Pathetic to say the least!!

Shame, this time around (my third) I s dealing with a very different CHG - they did everything in their power to be UNHELPFUL. This after accepting beat up cocktail tables with a smile. Fellow decor vendors Decor D Zign paid my deposit for the same event back, IN FULL, without the hassle of filling in little forms that you can’t even sign without printing. And they use Absa while these ones nt to charge me R100 for an FNB to FNB transaction lol the crookedness of it all is alarming. Leah, singing for her supper, will throw insults at you for ling her you experienced easier service elsewhere, like she’s going to inherit the company… escalate her rudeness and Old Schalk will l you “it’s interesting you sent a complaint via but you missed our ”. He thought it s a smart and witty response. Oh and then it’s “we’ll refund you, end of discussion” to assert his manly authority. Subpar… Parties and Occasions is cheaper. Decor D Zign service s stellar. I need the NCC to take a look at these ones and their banking fees that we never agreed to so urgently. R100 to transact - same bank - in Cyril’s economy?
After all being sorted out I would like to say thank you to CHG Function Hire for coming back and sorting it all out, equipment work really well and after the bumps were sorted all s ended on a positive note.
I will use this company again and going forward i am sure there will be no more misunderstandings.

I used them for a party at our house. They delivered to our house, everything s perfect, right amount and so on. The pick Up s a bit of a surprise as they did not confirm a time with me, even thought I sent an and asked. But the rest of the service s perfect, quick feedback, easy process and great selection available.
Only thing which I felt s not right that we were charged for 4 wine glass which had small chips at the bottom. I recommend you check when they deliver, as I have my doubts that we caused those chips, but because I didn’t check upon delivery we had to pay for them.
We would like to sincerely thank Lia, Henk and the whole team at CHG Function Hire for being very efficient, friendly and punctual when setting up the tents, tables and chairs for our wedding. Your service s truly excellent. Although the table cloths only came later in the day (still in time) and your drivers must have been very tired by that time, they were full of life and laughs when delivering the items. Honestly not the best service I've experienced. They kept me iting for y too long to get into the good service category. But I also won't label them as bad service either. Everyone s helpful and friendly.
One star is one too many!!!
This s the second and last time I will ever hire anything from CHG. They demand a deposit and then takes 19 days to refund it. Their equipment is in a bad state and we really had a tough time in keeping the equipment so hired, working. No thanks, not again.
