The Riverdeck Lodge and Backpackers

It's a great summertime lunch venue. There is plenty of shaded outdoor seating alongside the river. It is also a perfect place to have lunch with children.
The food unfortunately s very average and the it s extremely long. They do rn you though. Do not go for a quick lunch or when you are starving.
It is a dog friendly restaurant, which is a plus if you are a dog lover.

Kid-friendly atmosphere is great, but do not recommend the restaurant. The food s fine, and it s busy, so we understand why it took ages. The problem s that so many items were never brought but itstaff claimed it s delivered to the table. Staff is clearly overwhelmed and needs more support. May be nice to stay at, but the restaurant is not worth visiting.

Just LOVE this place. Just take the turn to Buffallo Bay..just after the bridge. Not even 1km. You will be pleasantly surprised by the beautiful restaurant and camping site..River deck. So much more than meet the eye. This is one place we often visit when we are in the area. Every year we see beautiful upgrades. Well done to the owners!! We will be back next year😉🥰

I had an absolutely amazing time here with my family. Our children were allowed to swim at will in the river which gave us time to chill and eat. Pizza's were great! Portia s our itress and she s wonderful.
I have read the negative reviews and fortunately, we didn't experience what others have. This s the perfect y to end off our holiday. It truly is a little hidden and unexpected gem. Kids have begged to go back for round 2!

Restaurant- horrible experience. We were told kicthen closes at 9pm so we went for dinner at 7pm. No service for menus or drimks. Went to get drinks ourselves at bar. Then whem we nted to order food we were told they are closjng now so no food and no more drinks. This s about 7:30pm. Very dissapointed.
Camp site bathrooms- not clean and not serviced often. Not enough bins for rubbish or terpoints/taps.
Beautiful view of river and quiet place.

Love it here. Place always has a vibe and friendly staff! The atmosphere next to the river is nice. However, be sure to put on some long sleeve shirts or bug spray in the summer. ter is clean and cold. Beers a fair priced and we loved their Pizzas.

Food s so slow and it s not even busy. Didn't even taste good after iting ages. Our itress, Precious, s an absolute darling. Would recommend Precious but not the business 😆

We had the best time. The vibe is awesome, did some rowing and swimming while we ited for the food.
Food could be better but s not bad, also didn't take to long.

I think the listing might be confusing because it's a restaurant. Beautiful on the banks of the Goukamma river with outside seating under cover and under trees. Will definitely visit them again.

Restaurant facilities are top notch, been upgraded nice and mod, and great for kids and adults. Great play areas for kids.
Had a disappointing experience with meal, had to send back, and adjacent table had issue with delivery speed. Quite evening. I've been going to riverdeck for over 10 years.
Suppose mistakes happen and I'm only commenting on one meal.
Restaurant will prove its worth if it performs during the tourist rush.
Nothing better than a nice chilled and also vibey setup at times and a night swim.
