I booked a 3-week stay (approximately £6,900) through Plum Guide expecting the premium, carefully vetted standards the company promotes.
I arrived in London on Monday and checked into the property that day. On Tuesday — after my final pre-surgery consultation ahead of my Wednesday surgery — I contacted Plum Guide to raise serious concerns about the condition of the apartment.
The balcony directly next to the kitchen s heavily contaminated with pigeon droppings and appeared to be actively used by birds. This s neither disclosed nor visible in the listing photos. Having bird ste immediately adjacent to a food preparation space is unsanitary and unacceptable, particularly at this price point.
I had specifically booked the three-week stay to recover from surgery in a clean and calm environment. Once you arrive somewhere and immediately associate it with unhygienic conditions, that sense of comfort and safety is gone.
Although cleaning s offered after I raised the issue, this s a booking made well in advance. A property marketed as premium and curated should not require reactive cleaning for something so visible upon arrival.
I stayed two nights while securing alternative accommodation and requested a refund for the unused 19 nights. This s refused.
Given the price and brand positioning, both the condition of the property and the handling of this matter were deeply disappointing.
We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful house in Fontane Bianche. The property is modern, spacious, and full of light, with palms and garden lights that create a magical atmosphere in the evenings. The best part s having the beach right behind the garden gate, it felt like our own little paradise. The house is well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Its location is perfect for visiting both Fontane Bianche and the stunning city of Siracusa

The Rosso is a beautiful villa. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful along with the pool and spa. The stonework throughout makes the entire place feel magical. We also had a chef prepare a meal for us while in the villa and had a cooking class as well. Both recommended by "The Plum Guide" and both were outstanding. The Plum Guide s very responsive throughout the entire booking process. Always quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions. I’d definitely use Plum Guide again!
We used Plum Guide to find a great apartment in Lisbon, Portugal. The location is really perfect. Not too busy but still very lkable to many areas or to metro and trains if you desire. The apartment is roomy, clean and very comfortable. It is just a few doors down from an Aldi grocery store and several ATMs and several fantastic restaurants. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and stay there again.
Hands off. Terrible experience – not what we expected from Plum Guide.
We paid a high price expecting a premium stay, but the apartment s a huge disappointment. The carpets throughout were filthy and disgusting. It completely ruined our holiday experience. For a platform that claims to offer “the best homes,” this s unacceptable. Plum Guide should take responsibility and improve their quality checks immediately.
We stayed in London at the Chelsea Street for a week. The flat s very comfortable, beautifully designed and decorated, and in a good location. Our Plum Guide host s very responsive to any and all of our questions. The good quality of Plum Guide is that they vet the homes and give a very accurate description of all the amenities.
We spent 4 days in the Mayfair Light apartment. The host, Ben, met and exceeded all of our expectations. The Mayfair location s excellent. Plum Guide s easy to deal with, and they are a trusted service. Will happily use them again.
The apartment s beautiful and in a fabulous location. From the minute you open the front door to the building you know it’s something special and when you lk into the apartment a smile will appear on your face. The apartment is light and bright and new but retains the charm of the original old building. The floor to ceiling windows let in so much light and can be opened to hear the sounds of the city. When they’re closed they block out all the noise. The shutters block out all the light so you can sleep late in the morning if you nt to. You are 50 feet from restaurants and shops and a small grocery store. There are only two negatives about this apartment: The internet is extremely slow, as stated in the listing. Also, you only get one bath towel and one smaller towel per person. We were there for five days and had to dry with damp towels every day. I asked for more but s told I would have to pay for them. I think with such a luxury apartment they should supply at least two towels per person.
Very comfortable stay in an excellent location. A pleasant lk to the Green Park Tube station and we never had a problem hailing a cab. We enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen and high quality bed and bath linens.
