Parks dept is one of the worst depts in COJ if there can be such a thing. Grass in parks ist height amongst a lot of other issues. Been little rain the past 3 weeks so lots of opportunity to clean up parks.
Good evening
In 2007 we bought the house at 61 inyoni Rd, Roseacre, due the other reason the small park grass were cut but since covid no luck. This is unexpected they use to cut and rake it up then they cut when I go in and ask and s told only every3 months what a joke.dont do it . They used to cut it when they cut the big park not anymore. It's knee hight now and blok ter going out my yard cause it to flood at the back. Trees growing next to my fence going to damage my ll but also cause electrical fence to go off.
Then those bluegum trees needs to be trimmed as it caused damage to my property as gutters blocked due to storms all leaves block my gutters and due to it insurance would not pay. Pls get the trees trimmed. My neighbour's electrical fence s damaged due to branches that fell on it. Needs to be trimmed. I did send to the mayor also. Pls assist with this
Thanks Antoinette krog
I recently had the chance to interact with the Joburg City Parks and Zoo regarding a tender submission, and regrettably, my experience s s not great. The management of the tender submission process s concerning; there were no registers available, and the submission box while visiable it did not seem secure.
Moreover, the security staff were dismiss our questions, which contributed to the overall discomfort. Ultimately, I hope to see enhancements in their processes and customer service moving forward.
What a wonderful day I had here with my 3 children. The zoo seems to be extremely well managed and maintained. Their new Amazon animal exhibit is beautiful. The animals all seem to be well looked after and the animal enclosures seem to be very comfortable for the animals. We loved the variety of animals and fun animal interactions we had (particularly friendly monkeys!). The zoo also has numerous fun play areas and picnic spots. I would highly recommend it for a great family day.
Went last week and really enjoyed it and as a local can get to go anytime! A really lovely day out and not expensive. Collapsed in the restaurant and had a lovely lunch. We had one or two issues with the unsupervised school children and found one lot throwing small branches at a couple of the lion. When I challenged them I couldn't find any staff or teachers anywhere. It's great to see the children there but there must be proper supervision. One group were just running riot and screaming and again no-one around. They told me they were iting for their teacher. Really not acceptable. Also need to sort out the cleaners as they lk around with their sticks and a bag picking up the obvious stuff but miss the rubbish in the beds and under the seating. Still it's easy to criticize and everything aside it really is a lovely day out and worth it.
I had a great experience here. The grounds are well maintained and the exhibits are updated and looked well cared for. The animals seem healthy and there s plenty to see! I spent 4 or 5 hours here.
Definitely one of the larger zoos I have been too, and easily compares to zoos in the US. The one thing I noticed is there were not many shops or guest services. I for one certainly appreciated that, I get tired of being constantly bombarded by shopping and eating when I go to a zoo to learn about animals. But, for families, it may be the one downside.
Large Zoo with all the animals you would wish to see. Great picnic spots, guided tours or lk it yourself. Information guides on all enclosures and even an open deck to view the Gorilla. Big trees for cover from the sun. Excellent family fun.
Great offices that requires Parking for public servants
Too much lking required and almost no animals visible. No longer renting mini-cars plus an entrance fee that will make even gold reef blush leads to an exhaustive affair.
The has workers that have love visitors, is open through out the week. From the M1 high y turn on Jun Smuts toward Rosebank, two minutes drive.
