We had a tent installed 2 years ago and had storm damage recently.
Tentickle sorted out all damages, re-enforced where necessary in a turn around time of not even 4 working days. yne provided excellent service, kept us informed and kept all his promises. It is great to see that there are still companies around that look after their product and their customers ! Well done
Sorry to say but we have had nothing but trouble from our stretch tent and no response from Tentickle when we asked them for assistance.
First issue is that the centre pole's are not supported .
On the third time we put ours up it s a bit of a windy day about 20-30 kph winds. There s one strong gust probably about 50-60 kph, it s a bit of a freak for the day. I s in the tent at the time.
The tent which s very securely tied down with ratchet straps ,ballooned and one of the three centre poles fell and hit a pregnant women on the head , causing her to be knocked to the ground and a laceration to her scalp.
This s in the middle of an event for 500 people.
An ambulance s involved followed later by lawyers and insurers.
We had to drop the tent in the middle of the event , the social media s very bad to say the least.
Fortunately the lady s not more seriously injured although she needed stitches to her scalp.
We designed ourselves a secure system involving a metal collar that loosely goes over the internal poles and attached to four ratchet straps , securing the poles to the sides of the tent.
Works a dream and its now impossible for the poles to drop.
Another problem developed after the 7th or 8th use in that the webbing reinforcement where the tie downs attach were breaking.
I used to be in bag manufacturing and noticed they were not flagged stitched and the thread itself could have been a stronger grade.
When I advised Tentickle of this problem they responded by simply saying that they had not experienced a problem before , which I am very surprised about .
I sent the tent off to a sail maker and had the webbing flagged stitched with high grade nylon.
It no longer breaks.
The tent has now been used about a dozen times.
Not that much really .
As it takes 3 men about 4 hours to get it up we left it up last week for eight days between two weekend events.
It has been windy , but not crazy.
I have a weather station at our restaurant.
Average wind speed since we put it up 8 days ago has been 15.7 kph . Maximum 45 kph for four brief gusts over the 8 days.. Maximum sustained wind speed 28 kph.
The fabric itself is now torn in a number of places and it will be a much bigger job to get it repaired.
Once more back to the sail makers.
I have not bothered contacting Tentickle as their previous response has been zero.
If you intend to use one of their tent's for regular commercial purposes and in moderately exposed location's then the tent will not stand up to long term use and is inherently dangerous in that the centre poles can drop with a strong gust of wind.
They did not provide me with any rning's re wind speeds or wear with longer term use.
In fact their assembly instructions are extremely minimal and we went back to you tube videos to work out how to best put them up.
My tent is a T3008 Durastretch FR 24 x 12 m.
