I took my 5 year old Grandson and we both thoroughly enjoyed our time. We lked around the area, saw lots of birds, then did a lovely boat ride on the canal. The guide on the boat s very informative and knowledgeable.

The island's wetlands and seasonal pans were designed to purify the canal ter and provide a habitat for wildlife. Today, Intaka Island is a thriving ecosystem and a popular destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and families.
The island features self-guided lking trails, including a 2km circular path and a 1km route, that allow visitors to explore the wetlands and observe the birdlife. The trails are well-maintained and wheelchair-friendly, with benches along the y to enjoy the scenery. There are dog poo bags available, but bring your own just in case the dispensers are empty. Keep your dog on a lead at all times and leave only your footprints to enjoy a great lk.
We had a fantastic day at Intake Island, Zandrie our tour guide through the wetland centre aided our experience with a guided lk. She is so knowledgeable about the birds and the environment. I absolutely recommend this as well as the boat ride around the island to see all the fantastic architecture around Century City and see how everyone lives in harmony in the ecological system of the canal.
The most absolutely stunning wetlands I've visited. It feels like you are in the African bush when you're right in the centre of Century City. It is rife with biodiversity, beautiful birds and flora. Id highly recommend visiting here to any birdwatcher, nature lover or anyone looking for a break from the city.
World Birding day celebrated as an outing for kids to learn, explore and collect nesting material, Building their own version of a nest at the end of the session. lk around the island, spotting birds and nests and included a boat ride through the canals. Great value for money and hopefully sparking some love for Birding by those less aware of what's on the doorstep.
Incredible place to spend some hours birdwatching, the paths are easy to follow and maintenied, it's very clean, staff is friendly

This s part of my year end function. The place is fun for hiking, excellent boat cruise with plenty of birds to see. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. On the island you have various breathtaking spots to have a picnic.
Beautiful restored wetland in the middle of Century City. There are two nice lking trails (0.8 km and 1.2 km) guiding you around the wetland. There is plenty of local fauna and flora to enjoy, with the Island home to a wide range of ter birds.
The Century City is build and incircul the Nature protected area, it seems to work well, lots of Birds, plants and different biotophs within a very small area. Loved it there. Nature, Work, Shopping all very close together.
Intaka Island is an oasis hidden away in the centre of Century City. There are numerous paths and lks, each taking you to a different lake, pond or bird sanctuary. The place is alive with the sound of nature. You can tch birds creating nests, looking after hatchlings, and splashing in the ter. I highly recommend this if you are looking for some alone time or a gentle strole with family or friends.
