Cam-A-Lot

I am very satisfied with the service I received from Cam-A-Lot. Glen s extremely helpful in procuring a product (K&F Concept Beta Backpack 20L) overseas which isn't stocked locally. Communication s great; I received regular updates on when the shipment would arrive in South Africa and when it would be delivered to me. I would definitely use their services again.

Not happy at all.
It’s not the first time that I go there to seek some help and that for some strange reason they seem very hesitant to help me. The first time, they seemed quite uninterested and not willing to help, and the second time they wouldn’t even open the gate saying they only assist people on appointment, and sounded very reluctant to assist.
I’m disappointed.

By far the best camera rental company in Joburg! What impressed me the most s their excellent customer service. I had issues on a big event where we needed some extra cameras and a video mixer (at last minute notice). Glen personally came out to sort the issue out and even brought me lunch! I have used them for the past 3 years and they continue to provide excellent gear, at excellent prices and more importantly excellent support. Thanks Garry, Glen, Vic, John and team from the Filmpod crew.

Cam-A-Lot provided the sound at our World Ostomy Day event held at Helen Joseph Hospital on 11 October 2023. All I can say is exceptional service. The have delivered on what s quoted and more.
The installer, I forget his name through no fault of his; I suck with remembering names, I think it s Richard, made sure we knew how the equipment works, made sure the area s safe.

I received great service from Camelot. I rented their equipments. They equipments were fantastic great sound. I s also provided remote assistance in installation. Great packaging of equipment, I cannot say enough of the service. I got them online I had to go onsite to visit them to see if they were legit. I found out that they are and I engaged with them about hiring their equipment it s awesome from there.

Tried to rent a camera but s told I must provide references with landline numbers. I explained I don’t know anyone who still has a landline, it’s 2025, but they refused to make any exceptions, citing company policy.
It’s frustrating, and honestly feels like a barrier designed to exclude certain groups of people. The policy is out of touch with how most people live today and ends up making it harder for some communities to access their services fairly.
There are far better and more effective ys to vet references in this day and age, I doubt nting references with a landline is one of them.

Ordered a PA system here...they do alot of background checks and verification on occupation, service s okay but the javk to connect the to speakers snt working and the guy knew this when I messaged him, so disappointed we had to make alternate plans to play music. What is a celeration without music... with thw amount of checks done and music not working, wont go back unfortunately.

I recently rented sound equipment from Cam-a-Lot, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, their service s top-notch. Their staff is professional, responsive, and helpful. Kudos to Mike for going above and beyond! The gear provided s clean, well-maintained, and exceeded our expectations. One speaker initially had a problem, and Mike ensured to meet me at their office on Saturday morning for a replacement. We’ll definitely be back for more rentals in the future!

Cam A Lot service is amazing. I rented a 24-70 and within a few days (I'm a new client) my application s processed and the lens s ready to collect. Upon collection I lked in and out in the space of 5 minutes. The lens is also in PERFECT condition without even a speck of dust on it. Very well priced too! I will be using them in future!
